The paper examines the issues of international development assistance in the environmental sector andfostering of “green economy” creation in developing countries. Various trends in development assistanceprovision, its increased volumes and expansion of bilateral and multilateral donors are discussed.The author forecasts increase in environmental assistance on climate change mitigation for the mostvulnerable countries.
