The G8 at St. Petersburg 2006: The 32nd in the G8 History and the 1st for Russia.

The paper presents assessment of the G8 2006 Saint-Petersburg summit done according to the methodology designed by Robert D. Putnam and Nicholas Bayne to assess the G7 summits achievements on six criteria: leadership, effectiveness, solidarity, durability, acceptability, consistency. The assessment is done using a grading system from A to E. According to the author’s evaluation the leaders have been able to perform well on the summits central aim of reconciling international and domestic pressures, and the summit can be assessed as high as B.
