Putnam and Nicholas Bayne to assess the G7 summits achievements on six criteria: leadership, effectiveness, solidarity, durability, acceptability, consistency. The assessment is done using a grading system from A to E. According to the author’s evaluation the leaders have been able to perform well on the summits central aim of reconciling international and domestic pressures, and the summit can be assessed as high as B.
