The author shows the evolution of the efforts to stabilize the financial system, stimulate domestic demand and strengthen the regulatory system. The paper concludes that the division of labour between the two institutions through coordinated efforts and involvement of international organizations by the dual G8/G20 French presidency should contribute to economic recovery in 2011.
